Contest rules and information: Contest 2 - Best Linka Construction Send Your Contest Entries Here (Link Closed)
It doesn't need to be anything fancy. Just sketch your design CLEARLY and describe your construction methods so that others can easily follow your instructions. You can use the designs on our Plan Sheets page as guides when putting your design together. It doesn't need to be as technical or detailed as our plan sheets, but the clearer you can make your instructions, the better.
You can even take step-by-step photographs to better illustrate your design. Or if you prefer the simple line drawings shown above, you can download a Linka Casting Chart (do a right-click and choose "Save As...") and cut and paste the pieces into your plan like we did on this page. The file shows detailed line drawings of every Linka Casting available on the 18 rubber moulds. It is almost 1 MB in size, so be patient with the download. You can use a simple bitmap editing program like Microsoft Paint to cut and paste the pieces you need. (back to top) |

Contest 2 - Best Linka Construction: It doesn't need to be original. It can be a building made from one of our plan sheets or any previously published Linka plan sheet. The only requirement is that you need to have built it. We are looking for the best looking (totally subjective) model built using Linka.
It can be anything from a house or office to a tunnel or bridge or even a retaining wall. It just needs to be made of Linka (or include Linka parts). It can include bits from other models or companies, but a fair portion of it needs to have been made of Linka castings - either modified or unmodified. (back to top) |

Who decides which plans are the most original and/or easiest to follow? Who determines which Linka models look the best?
YOU DO!!
We're no good at making tough decisions so we're leaving the judging up to you. Everyone gets to vote for each category. There is one vote for the best Building Plans, one vote for the best Linka Construction, and one vote for your top three favorite Linka Constructions (three votes in total). The voting will be hosted on the Yahoo! Linka Newsgroup site. Members will need to sign in before voting. Just follow the link to "Polls" to cast your votes. There are three polls so be sure to cast your vote in each one. If you aren't already a member, you will need to sign up first before you can vote. It's fast and free and best of all, you not only get to have a say in the judging, you will also be able to participate in this great forum devoted to the world of Linka modeling. You can get and exchange Linka building tips and ideas with other folks who use Linka. (back to top) |
